In 2016, BS OHSAS 18001 will be replaced by ISO 45001 as the international standard for health and safety management.

It has been more than two decades since the idea for an ISO standard on an occupational health and safety management system was first tossed around. Now, after failed attempts, the international community has come together. More than 60 countries are directly involved in the creation of this important document, including Canada.

Many of us have asked what the new standard will do and how will it affect occupational health and safety and the professional practice. This webinar will walk you through the framework and scope of ISO 45001. This international standard specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety management system with guidance for its use to enable an organization to control its risks and improve performance. We will review other business aspects that it influences — such as supply chains — that affect major business operation decisions. The proposed key changes will be presented and we will provide information to help you understand the path one can take from CSA Z1000 or OHSAS 18001 to ISO 45001.
